Christmas 2009:2
December 6th, 2009
These are homemade hamburger buns just cut out and on their second rise. They were so good. Recipe here. It is a bread machine recipe, but I did it by hand.
The hamburger buns were also good for evening entertainment. I turned out the kitchen lights and turned on the oven light and everyone gathered round to watch them bake.

I still haven’t gotten my lights up yet, you are so far ahead of the game.
Also, the buns look yummy!
Annie,
How long did you bake yours for, and have any pics of how they turned out? Or did ya’ll devour them too quickly? *laughs*
And how were they? I’ve been looking for a bun/bread recipe that is light and ‘squishy’, not coarse textured.
Happy Holidays and Thanks!

I know that to my more educated friends & family, spending the evening making hamburger buns and then watching them cook, seems. . . well, a waste of an evening. They have no idea how fun and delicious it is. Thanks for sharing.
Those buns look great!! I’ve been looking for a good recipe. My first attempt at homemade hamburger buns was a complete flop!! I’ll have to try this recipe. Thanks!!
I am looking forward to trying this recipe. While I make our bread, family has never enjoyed the bread shaped into hamburger and hotdog buns. Hopefully, these will work out better, and please them. Just for a lark, I’ll bake them while I’m home alone, and then put them into a store-bought bag, and see if anyone notices the difference.
may you all have a blessed start to the upcoming new year, and this is to say thanks for working so hard at giving us all the best magazine around, and for sharing all your pictures and lovely moments with us all, and for wonderful family values that we all can take note of….
