As long as the home was not bought from immediate family, you have not owned a main home in the last three years, and the home was purchased between April 6, 2009 and December 31, 2009, you may qualify for a credit of up to 8,000.00 depending on the purchased price. 2008 homeowners credit must be paid back 500.00 a year for the next 13 years. 2009 credit does NOT have to be paid back.
