Happy Birthday, Sweet Pea
On Saturday our sweet little Olga turned five. She’s been looking forward to being five for a very long time, ever since she found out that kindergarten is for five-year-olds. We managed to drag the festivities out over three days.
She took several important phone calls, most notably from Papa (great-grandfather), Pop (grandfather), Baba (grandmother), and DADDY, who should be home in about five weeks.
There was sparkle and bling and there were a few wardrobe changes.
An icecream cake from DQ rounded off the festivities, and little brother Gavin, who just turned three himself, helped blow out the candles.
Olga’s birthday marks the last family holiday Erik will miss before coming home from Iraq, so it’s a milestone for all of us. We’re so grateful that we’ve been able to spend these past few months so close to family. It has made the waiting and the celebrating so much more enjoyable.

Annie, she is just PRECIOUS. You and Erik are so lucky to have two like that. Five weeks will FLY by.
Congrats.
I love Pic # 2, it looks like the horse is listening in on the conversation!
Only five more weeks, I am very happy for you and your children. Your children are lucky to have such a loving family wish them happy belated birthday from a faithfull reader of your magazine and blog. Kerstin
no pictures but glad to read some thing from you again.
Happy Birthday Olga! I can’t believe she is FIVE! I met here when she was just three and Gavin not even two yet. Annabelle was just shy of 5 months and now she is 2. My oh my how time fly’s by. It’s nice to see the kids smile.
Glad your husband will be home soon.
